Dan Byrne was officially back at the renowned KK’s Steel Mill in Wolverhampton for a headline show in his own right, kickstarting his UK Tour. Joined by his sensational band – consisting of Colin Parkinson, Glenn Quinn and Max Rhead – and with support from Kit Trigg and Muddibrooke, this was a potent evening filled with nothing but pure rock vibes!

Gearing us up for the night – the first set of the entire tour – was Farnham’s very own Kit Trigg. Bearing in mind this was a sold-out show, the room felt busy from the get-go, and the fact that so many people showed up early is a credit to talent and showmanship these guys present. Their set explored earworm melodic riffs, formidable spirit, and a perfect introduction for any first-time listeners.
A personal stand out was ‘Grow with the Flow‘, which presented a stunning moment of just Kit with his guitar; hearing the rawness and isolation of his vocals exposed his strength in pitch and control, before the band joined in for a fierce continuation of show-stopping track. We were then treated to an absolute belter of an anthem ‘Goin’ for Glory‘ to close a totally solid set.
Kit proved to be a humble frontman, introducing and showing total appreciation for his band several times; with his “friend of 10 years” Morgan Lindley on bass, and “the stud” we all recognised Max Rhead on drums. The chemistry between this trio is something many bands can only aspire to. A perfect accompaniment to the evening and a set filled with charm and guitar shreds galore!

Next up was Derbyshire’s very own punchy, powerful and electrifying Muddibrooke, a band that has been on the lips of many within the rock scene over the last 18 months. A three-piece who have absolutely nailed their own hybrid sound of punk, grunge and soft metal, they hold an extremely tight sound exploring sludgy guitar licks, gritty baselines and – their jumps in time signatures and intentional chordal changes showcase their unique sound, but it was their carefree vitality on stage that elevated the show.
A flawless performance with songs from their EP and some new teasers as well. Harriet treated us to the news of their debut album, which is due out this year – recorded at Rockfield studios and produced by Thunder’s Luke Morley – and from what we were shown tonight, it’s going to be something very special.

Just when you thought the room couldn’t get any busier, the heat was turned up as Dan Byrne took to the stage, welcomed by a roar from the crowd. The bands atmospheric entrance was second to none as they opened with the first single from Dan’s new album, ‘Saviour’.
As predicted, Dan was at the top of his game showcasing his powerful, soulful and euphonious vocals. The set explored a great mix of material, including the viral track ‘She’s the Devil’, their latest single ‘Praise Hell’, the crowd-pleasing ‘Cherry and Leather,’ and even a ballad to break up the night with ‘Sober’. The wildcard of the evening, however, was their cover of Audioslave’s ‘Show Me How to Live’- which to put it bluntly – was just, epic. I admire any band willing to cover anything associated with Chris Cornell, but this rendition truly demonstrated how skilled and talented each member of the band is.
Dan’s engagement with his audience makes his shows so personable, and he never shies away from expressing his journey – whether when introducing a song or simply through his lyrical delivery – making the entire performance even more immersive. His gratitude for his band was made clear as he introduced them, stating “I would not be here without these 3 people behind me” referencing guitar virtuoso Glenn Quinn, “the funkiest man I know” Colin Parkinson on bass and of course, the backbone of the band Max Rhead on drums.
Before his rockstar exit, Dan remarked “I couldn’t have asked for a better way to start the tour” before reminiscing on his first gig at KK’s, which he recalled had 100 attendees, “now I’m playing to a sold-out audience” – not bad going at all.
A high energy show from start to finish, Dan is an absolute powerhouse, combining captivating melodies with a grounded, humbling presence. If you’re heading to any dates on this tour, you’re in for a real treat.
Dan Byrne’s long-awaited debut album ‘This is Where the Show Begins’ will be available on May 22nd 2026 through Frontiers Music.
