One year to the day since the debut single I Am The Gun – A New Chapter Begins.
New single ‘Skullhammer’, signals the forthcoming arrival of ‘The Devil’s Arcanum’ – from
former I.C.O.N guitarist Scott Knowles. ‘Skullhammer’ is unleashed via an official
visualiser/lyric video.

October 6th will see the first EP drop in a four-part EP series. A concept-driven body of work,
The Devil’s Arcanum fuses heavy, emotional metal and hard rock with arcane symbolism,
tarot mysticism, and raw human experience. Each EP ‘chapter’ explores a fractured facet of
the self — The Devil, The Icon, The Shadow, and The Tower.

“Albums do take time, but these songs needed to live right now, to breathe, to try to reach
people in a more interesting way. That’s why I’m doing it like this.” – Scott Knowles

From I.C.O.N to Arcanum: A Story Reignited
Before Devils and Icons, Scott spent nearly two decades with UK metal band I.C.O.N. The
band he co-founded released four EPs and the albums New Born Lie and The Blacklist;
touring and gigging Europe and the UK with the likes of Geoff Tate, Udo Dirkschneider,
Anvil, Blaze Bayley, Breed 77 — amongst others. Then in 2016, the band unfortunately
stopped.

Coming 2026: The Devil’s Arcanum – Chapter Two: ‘The Icon’
For the second EP in The Devil’s Arcanum series, Scott invited former I.C.O.N bandmates
Mark Sagar, Larry Paterson and Reece Bevan to contribute. While this isn’t a full reunion
of the band, it marks a powerful return to shared creative ground — not out of nostalgia, but
unfinished business.

Mark Sagar contributes vocals, lyrics, song titles, and thematic direction — bringing his
distinct voice and presence to the storytelling behind the EP. Larry Paterson and Reece
Bevan return on drums and bass, respectively. Scott Knowles handles guitars and shares
vocal duties with Mark, guiding the EP sonically and creatively as producer.

“To end like we did was a massive shame. So, to be making music again with these three —
in a new form, in a new light — is not just exciting; It’s deeply meaningful. I’m trying to
honour the legacy of my old band by working with Mark, Larry and Reece – I opened the
door to collaboration on this chapter because it felt right to do so. Life is short, so why
not…?” — Scott Knowles
