North East based modern rock band Thieves of Liberty are gearing up to the release of their debut album Shangri-La on the 15th November.

The band’s recent single Sick Pup won Classic Rock Magazine’s Tracks of the Week poll upon release. Today the band have unveiled the fourth single from their forthcoming album – the track is called Caviar and Diamonds.

Speaking about the song, guitarist Kieran Wilson said: “This is one of our favourite songs on the entire album. Not only is it incredibly fun to play, but I think it’s one of our most well-written and mature songs to date. It carries an important message about how often falsehoods are spread by people in power in an attempt to control the narrative in a way which suits their current agenda.”

The song opens with a driving drum intro before leading into a catchy riff, closely followed by frontman James Boak’s soaring vocals which land with instant impact.

The chorus is Shinedown-esque with the band continuing the theme of in-your-face fiffs and Boak further demonstrating the prowess of his vocal ability. It’s the kind of vocal showcase which explains why he often draws comparisons to Rival Son’s Jay Buchanan.

Axemen Liam Lindsley and Kieran Wilson really come to life in the bridge, with the latter ripping out an extended guitar solo which mixes melody and intricacy with fine precision.

In celebration of the band’s new album release Thieves of Liberty will perform a pair of launch shows, including a date at the Independent in Sunderland on the 15th November, and AMP in Stockport on the 17th November.
