Rock duo Tenacious D have pulled from the remainder of their Australian tour and paused all future creative projects following a comment made by Kyle Gass during a recent show. Jack Black took to social media on Tuesday 16th July 2024 saying he was “blindsided by what was said at the show on Sunday.” and that he would “never condone hate speech or encourage political violence of any form”. Black also expressed that he is “grateful to the fans for their support and understanding”.

This decision comes following Gass’ comment regarding the recent Trump incident in Pennsylvania over the weekend where Trump was shot in the ear as part of an Assassination attempt during a campaign rally. The comment was made after Gass was presented a cake onstage for his 64th Birthday, where he was asked to make a wish and he appeared to reply saying “Don’t miss Trump next time.”.

It is also said that Kyle Gass parted with his agent following the incident.
