A bit about Santa Cruz and their past
Santa Cruz is a Finnish hard rock band formed in 2007 by Archie Cruz and Johnny Parkkonen in Helsinki. After releasing two demos and a self-released EP, they signed with Spinefarm Records in 2012. Their first album, “Screaming for Adrenaline,” achieved success in Finland, leading to gigs in Europe and the U.S.
Their second album, “Santa Cruz,” showcased a heavier sound and reached No. 3 on the Finnish charts. The band toured extensively and released the singles “Sky Diving Without a Parachute” and a cover of One Direction’s “Drag Me Down.” “Bad Blood Rising,” their third album, followed in 2017 featuring hit singles like “River Phoenix.”
The band experienced lineup changes over the years, leading to the release of their fourth album, “Katharsis,” in 2019. A new lineup with guitarist Jerry Jade and drummer Randy McDemian released the single “Under the Gun” in 2022 from their forthcoming album The Return of the Kings., signaling a fresh start with a commitment to live performances without backing tracks.
